ByPaul Reoch
A tourism guide aimed at providing advice for businesses on opportunities to be gained by the 2014 Ryder Cup has been launched.
The new guide, Teeing up for Success, is part of the VisitScotland AdviceLink series, and is hoped to play a vital part on the golf sector in Scotland, which VisitScotland claim is worth around £1 billion to the country.
VisitScotland chairman Mike Cantlay said: “The importance for the Scottish economy is huge. For this reason it is imperative we utilise the opportunities afforded to us and ensure we’re ready to welcome golf visitors like never before.”
“The Ryder Cup is one of the largest sporting events in the world and creates the optimum platform for us to create a lasting legacy for Scottish golf and Scottish tourism.”
Fraser Cromarty, sales and marketing director at Castle Stuart Golf Links, said: “Done well, there is huge potential for businesses to reap the benefits golf tourism offers.”
