A fundraiser will return to Scone Palace for her seventh annual Pink Ribbonwalk to honour the memory of her late sister.
Teresa Henderson, 66, from Markinch, has completed every Scone Pink Ribbonwalk with her friend Mairead Stewart.
Teresa said: “It’s a fantastic day and we so enjoy the camaraderie and to be able to raise money to offer support and help to people diagnosed with breast cancer.
“My sister Evelyn had breast cancer and that’s what really made me decide to do it. She had it twice.
“Last year my sister died in April and the walk was in May, not long after the funeral. It was very emotional all the way round and when I crossed the finish line.
“I thought to myself that I did it for Evelyn and it was great to think you can do some good.
“You get a pink ribbon and you can put the name of the person you’re thinking of on the ribbon. I always put my sister’s name on it.”
This year’s walk has set a fundraising target of £200,000.
Participants will be asked to raise £100 in sponsorship to help fund Breast Cancer Care’s specialist services. It costs £30 to register to take part and £15 for under-18s. There is no minimum sponsorship for under-18s.
Everyone receives an event pack with details, a pink ribbon, a T-shirt, medal, hot post-walk meal and a certificate.
