A bride spent her wedding night in a police cell after a drunken row with her new husband.
Kerry Carmichael lashed out at Liam Moir just hours after they were married in Perth after he woke her from a drunken stupor.
She had overindulged in the hospitality of friends and family at a reception in her home village of Almondbank.
Perth Sheriff Court was told the 21-year-old had been carried from the event to her parents’ home in the early hours, before snapping at the groom when he attempted to rouse her.
Carmichael eventually assaulted Mr Moir by pushing him repeatedly in the face, with the matter eventually coming to the attention of local officers, who locked her up for the weekend.
Carmichael, of Gellyburn Road, admitted assaulting Mr Moir in Almondbank’s Kirkhall Road on Saturday.
