Visitors from across the globe have helped make this year’s Perthshire Amber the most successful ever.
For the first time, the economic boost to the area has exceeded £1 million.
The festival also noted a significant increase in the number of revellers from outwith the region, with 9,000 music fans flocking to Highland Perthshire from 23 countries.
One guest house in Dunkeld boasted a diverse range of guests, hosting visitors from England, Germany, New Zealand, Israel and America.
Festival director Jennifer MacLean said; “As ever, in addition to the great music, I think what makes the festival unique is the array of wonderful venues: from the quaint and quirky to the atmospheric and historic, to the impressively modern.
“Murthly Castle Chapel provided an enchanting new venue this year, which we were delighted to have as part of our programme.
“Our Amber acoustic sessions really came into their own in 2013, with afternoon and evening events in various carefully selected pubs around Dunkeld and Birnam.
“The feedback from those has been excellent. In addition to thanking our festival team, I’d like to extend a big thank you to all our sponsors and PALS (Perthshire Amber Local Supporters).
“We really appreciate the support, which helps us to carry on providing the wide range of concerts, walks, workshops, talks and sessions that make up the Perthshire Amber tapestry.”
Next year is set to be more impressive, as festival founder Dougie MacLean celebrates 40 years in the music industry, as well as the 10th anniversary of the Perthshire Amber, which will run from October 24-November 2.
It is also one of the featured Homecoming 2014 events, so organisers have promised to pull out all the stops.
Mr MacLean said: “We’ve had so many great names appear at the festival during the 10 years and I’m hoping to welcome back many of them to celebrate our special anniversary.”
