A Perth man who assaulted the same woman twice has been sent to prison for 10 months.
Perth Sheriff Court heard that Alfred Dickson, 59, of Bracken Brae, and the female were “associates” and that she had been at his house when she asked him if she could leave.
Depute fiscal John Malpass said: “The accused asked the woman if she could stay a further 10 minutes. However, the woman felt uneasy about his behaviour and went to the bathroom to use her mobile phone.”
The court heard that she was aware of Dickson standing outside, barring her from leaving. Mr Malpass said she phoned her sister and when she emerged from the bathroom the accused “challenged” her about the call.
“The woman attempted to run to the front door but the accused took hold of her arm and forced her back and pushed her on to the ground,” he added.
“Police received an anonymous call and when they arrived outside the flat they could hear the woman pleading with the accused to allow her to leave.”
Dickson admitted that on February 1 at Bracken Brae, Perth, he assaulted a woman by forcibly restraining her and also pleaded guilty to assaulting her on August 16 at Canal Crescent, Perth, by repeatedly punching her.
The sentence was backdated to August 19.
