Artist offering reward for return of stolen Mercedes bicycle
ByThe Courier Reporter
A Perthshire artist has put up a reward for information leading to the return of his stolen £2,000 Mercedes bike.
Ian Imrie had the silver pedal cycle stolen from his Bridge of Earn home sometime on New Year’s Day.
Mr Imrie, who for the past 40 years has been a dealer in fine arts and antiques, is offering a £200 reward to anyone who can provide information leading to the return of his bike and the prosecution of the thief.
Mr Imrie said: “The bike was behind a locked gate, but there is some building work going on next door which I think may have provided the thief with the chance to steal the bike. It was an opportunistic theft.
“It is quite a heavy bike and is silver with a Mercedes logo. I think the person who took it would have some difficulty getting rid of it as it is such a unique bike. It is not your usual bike that you can get from Halfords.”
Anyone with information regarding the bike is asked to contact Mr Imrie on 01738 812423.
