VIDEO: Perth city centre street closed after wall collapses

A section of South Methven Street in Perth will remain closed for the “foreseeable future” following a partial building collapse.
A wall at the rear of the Quality caf collapsed, resulting in fears for the building’s stability.
Emergency services were alerted at 3.10pm and it the road was closed off between High Street and Mill Street.
Traffic was diverted along Mill Street.
Three Scottish Fire and Rescue Service units were in attendance along with police and ambulance. It’s understood no one was injured in the incident.
A spokesman for Perth and Kinross Council said: “The Police have closed South Methven Street, between Mill Street and High Street, Perth, due to a dangerous building.
“This will be for the foreseeable future until the building’s stability can be assessed.”
