Billy Ocean brings festive feel to Perth

Billy Ocean was the star attraction as thousands of people welcomed the official arrival of the Christmas season in Perth.

The 80s legend rounded off a day of entertainment on Saturday.

Thousands of revellers packed into Tay Street to enjoy the Winter Festival.

Earlier in the evening the crowds had been entertained by pop rock group Showaddywaddy.

The group famous for their Teddy Boy looks and cover versions of party classics featured two members of their original line-up.

Provost Liz Grant flipped the switch to set off a stunning fireworks display over the River Tay.
