A man threatened to stab his neighbour because she complained about the volume of his music.
Richard Axford came out of his home topless and told Tracy Johnstone, 53, that he would stab her because she had reported him to the police.
Perth Sheriff Court was told that Axford was partially clothed while he was relaxing and listening to music in a downstairs flat with his mother Catherine Axford.
The volume of the music was turned up so high that Ms Johnstone called the police and they arrived and advised Axford to turn it down.
He did briefly then stormed out to confront his mother’s upstairs neighbour, kicking her door and calling her a “grass” and threatening to “knife” her.
Fiscal depute Bill Kermode told the court: “They heard loud music coming from the flat below and had called police to report it.
“He shouted up and kicked their door. The witnesses were scared and stayed in their living room, afraid of what might happen if the accused got in or they went outside.
“He was seen by the police in Davie Park Place and he was not wearing a shirt. He was shouting, swearing and acting aggressively when the police saw him.”
Axford admitted playing his music loudly and shouting, swearing and acting aggressively in the Blairgowrie street in August last year.
Solicitor Jamie Baxter, defending, said: “They had been listening to music and it got turned up because of the noise coming from upstairs. He accepts he behaved in an inappropriate manner.”
Sheriff William Wood fined Axford, from Perth, £540.
