THE 10TH annual Niel Gow Festival has been held in Highland Perthshire
Fiddlers from all over Scotland and beyond converged on Dunkeld and Birnam to celebrate the life of the local hero.
Gow was born near Inver on the banks of the Tay and, as a fiddle player and composer, became a celebrity of his time, performing for Bonnie Prince Charlie.
He was also a teacher and passed his skills on to his sons and to many other would-be musicians.
This year’s festival saw celebrated left-handed fiddler Aonghas Grant, from Fort William, return for his 10th year
Maurice Duncan, from Oban, returned to play with Perth’s own Maureen Rutherford in the Saturday night concert.
The weekend was brought to a close by Patsy Reid in the company of Mhairi Hall on piano.
