A90 delays after man threatened to jump from bridge
ByThe Courier Reporter
There was traffic “chaos” on the A90 dual-carriageway between Perth and Dundee when a man threatened to throw himself from a bridge.
The alarm was raised on Thursday night when the man clambered over a barrier at the Inchture flyover, about six miles west of Dundee.
Several police vehicles rushed to the scene and the road was closed in both directions. The dual-carriageway remained shut for 20 minutes while specialist officers persuaded the man to climb back over the barrier to safety.
“There was a young male going to jump off the flyover on to traffic,” a police spokesman said.
“It was a case of quickly getting all the assets in the right place. We stopped the traffic for around 20 minutes.
“It was organised chaos for a while but we got him over the barrier and he’s now safe.”
