“Iconic” chairlifts dating back to the 1960s will be auctioned on Saturday to raise money for two charities.
Around 60 lifts from Glenshee Ski Centre’s famous Tiger run will go under the hammer, with email bids already being submitted.
The famous resort has received funding from Scottish Enterprise as part of a £2.4 million programme for a new run, which is “two-thirds” completed, to be built.
Ski enthusiasts are keen to get their hands on the chairs, which will be auctioned in the car park outside Glenshee Ski Centre on Saturday.
Kate Hunter, one of the directors at Glenshee Ski Centre, told The Courier she expects a decent turnout at the event.
“There’s a lot of interest, both on our Facebook page and judging by the amount of email bids we’ve received,” she said.
“Around 40 of the chairs will be put up for auction and if the bidding goes well we will include the rest, although some of them are a bit tatty now.”
“The chairs were built in 1962 with some of the steel used coming from the Clyde. They are quite iconic.
“For quite a lot of people coming to use these chairs at Glenshee will have been their first experience of skiing.
“We’ve already had 15 email bids but we’re not taking phone bids.
“We put one on eBay to gauge how much it would sell for and it went for £550 so we expect the chairs to go for anything between £100 to £500.
“The old run will be rebuilt and we’re almost two-thirds of the way through with that project.”
The money raised will be divided between the Scottish Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA) at Perth Airport and Disability Snowsports Scotland.
The chairs will go under the hammer on Saturday from noon, with the ticket office open for registration at 11am.
The revamp of the ski centre will result in new chairlifts being installed and is part of an overall investment by the Scottish Government in snow sports.
Glenshee Ski Centre has 36 ski runs and 22 lifts and is spread over 2,000 acres of slopes across three glens to the north of Spittal of Glenshee.
