Councillor Willie Wilson is seeking a solution to the problem of heavy goods vehicles using a quiet Perth cul-de-sac for their overnight stops.
He said he shares the concerns of local residents over the practice of parking in Tweed Place, which is off Lamberkine Drive.
“In the past few months it has become increasingly used by HGVs for an overnight break,” he said.
“This has brought a number of problems including litter and damage to the roadway and kerbs.
“We need to find a solution to this problem in what is a quiet road and business park.
“Litter bins have already been installed and I hope these will be used by lorry drivers, at least on an interim basis.
“The damage to the road structure is, however, completely unacceptable and we need to find an alternative, sensible location for overnight parking of lorries in Perth.
“I have asked officers of the council to investigate the possibility of providing overnight parking for lorries in the Shore Road/Edinburgh Road area,” added Mr Wilson.
