Perth Pomarium Flats to be rewired after Christmas fire

Engineers are to completely rewire a block of flats in Perth following a Christmas Day fire.

Officials from SSE visited the Pomarium Flats on Saturday and concluded that all cables, wiring, metal trunking and distribution boards to individual flats need to be stripped out and replaced.

If engineers gain access to all the affected flats, the work is scheduled to be completed by January 6.

Perth and Kinross Council has been organising temporary accommodation for the residents who had to be evacuated from their homes because of the blaze.
