Perth will have another fast-food outlet for its residents with the opening of a Subway branch in the city centre.
Work has been taking place over the past few months on the new shop, which is located in Scott Street and will create 10 jobs.
It is on the site of the former Blockbusters store, which closed in November 2013 when the video rental firm had to be placed into administration.
The site measures 165 square metres and will include a limited seating area.
Haj Atwal, development agent for Subway, commented: “The Scott Street branch is our first store in Perth and we’re excited to be bringing the Subway brand to the city.
“We look forward to welcoming customers to the new store when we open and hope it will be the first of many new Subway stores as we expand in the Perthshire area.
“Expansion in the east, north and south of Scotland is going strong and we are looking forward to opening many more stores throughout 2015,” added Mr Atwal.
