Cyclist airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after accident in Kinross-shire

A male cyclist was taken to hospital by helicopter to be treated for “serious” back injuries following a collision with a car in Kinross-shire.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the accident, which involved a Land Rover Freelander and happened on the B996 Kinross to Gairney Bank Road at about 9.55am on Thursday.
Police say the 56-year-old cyclist sustained back injuries and was taken by air ambulance to Ninewells Hospital for treatment.
His injuries were described as “serious”.
The 36-year-old driver of the Land Rover was not hurt.
The road was closed to allow police to carry out investigations but reopened in the afternoon.Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.
