Glasgow trio accused of making threats at Perth nightclub
ByThe Courier Reporter
Three men with alleged connections to organised crime are said to have threatened the lives of staff at a Perth nightclub.
The trio appeared individually, in private, at the city’s sheriff court on Monday on a petition alleging three charges.
Christopher Stewart, 38, of Elliot Street, Finnieston; Barry Cushley, 35, of Ingram Street and Danish Zafar, 20, of Maple Road, all Glasgow; are accused of uttering threats to one man, threatening his safety and that of his family.
Zafar also faced two additional charges, alleging in each instance that he uttered threats to female members of staff at the club and threatened to kill them.
All three offences are said to have taken place at the Loft in South Street, Perth, on Saturday and are said by the Crown to have been aggravated by the men’s “connection to serious organised crime”.
Each man made no plea or declaration and had his case continued for further examination.
All three were released on bail to return to the court at a later date.
