A new Red Deer Centre at a Perthshire visitor attraction has enjoyed success in its first year.
The Red Deer Centre and Discovery Trail at Highland Safaris in Aberfeldy celebrates the history, wildlife, and heritage of the area.
Director of Highland Safaris Donald Riddell said: “The Red Deer Centre has enabled interaction with our tame red deer herd, allowing visitors to hand feed our red deer herd safely in the company of our knowledgeable safari rangers.
“Furthermore, the addition of a barn owl has been a massive draw and created great interest the species.”
Highland Safaris is a family-run enterprise and attracts around 45,000 visitors each year from all over the world.
The five-star visitor attraction also has Perthshire’s only Gold and Gem Panning Centre, as well as a Land Rover Safari.
This year sees further development of the Discovery Trail with the addition of a maze, wild flower meadow and “bug motel”.
VisitScotland regional partnerships director Jim Clarkson said: “It is fantastic to see that Highland Safaris is making the most of celebrating Scotland’s stunning wildlife with this new attraction.
“Tourism is at the heart of Perthshire’s economy, creating jobs and supporting communities.”
