A Perth man who struck a teenage boy on the head and kicked him on his bottom has been ordered to carry out 135 hours of unpaid work.
Perth Sheriff Court heard that Ewan Beveridge, 39, of Woodside Crescent, became “involved in confrontation” that took place between the complainer and two friends that developed into a fight.
Solicitor Paul Ralph, defending, said his client “accepted” he grabbed the youth and seized him on the head.
“My client accepts he also kicked the boy on the buttocks and this is not something he should have done,” he said.
Beveridge admitted that on August 8 last year at Woodside Crescent, Perth, he assaulted the youth by seizing him and striking him on the head and kicking him on the body to his injury.
Sentencing Beveridge, Sheriff William Wood told him: “There was some provocation, but not content with removing the complainer from your home you seized him and hit him with considerable force.”
In addition, Beveridge was given a supervision element of a community payback order for 12 months.
