Proposed £1 billion development could meet Perth’s expected population rise
ByPaul Reoch
Perth’s expected future rise in population could be catered for by one of the largest developments the city has ever seen.
If given the green light by the council, the £1 billion Bertha Park plan would lead to 3,000 houses, three schools, a care home, retail units and leisure facilities being built over a 30-year period on land located to the north-west of Perth.
Proposals, which were lodged this week with the local authority, look set to proceed with the Cross Tay Link Road to the first roundabout at Bertha Park already receiving planning consent.
Developers aim to create a “countryside community” at Bertha Park.
