Winds across Perthshire reached speed of up to 45mph overnight, with the top speed recorded at Strathallan at 1am. Across Scotland winds reached more than 100mph in mountain regions, while an area of Edinburgh witnessed a gust of 70mph. The Met Office has issued yellow be aware alerts for wind for the Tayside area on Monday and Tuesday. Posting on their Facebook page, the farmer’s market organisers apologised to shoppers.
