A Dundee woman pulled clumps of hair from a Perthshire school teacher’s head after flying into a violent rage.
Stacey Maguire, 31, appeared at Perth Sheriff Court following the assault on 24-year-old Charlene Shaw in Blairgowrie.
Appearing as co-accused was Maguire’s current partner Mark Dolan, 32, who was also involved in the incident, attacking Ms Shaw’s boyfriend Ranald Duncan.
The court heard the assailants had travelled to the home of the victims on July 7.
Depute fiscal Stuart Richardson said Maguire had contacted Mr Duncan and advised him she was coming to Blairgowrie.
He added: “There was a discussion which turned into an argument.
“It did not appear to be a pleasant discussion, but it seemed to be coming to an end.
“Miss Maguire and Mr Dolan prepared to leave.
“At that point Stacey Maguire felt Miss Shaw was laughing at her and she grabbed Miss Shaw by the hair and began pulling it.
“She removed some hair which was later recovered by the police.
“Mr Duncan stood up to intervene and Mr Dolan, who had until then hardly been involved, punched him on the head.”
Solicitor Billy Boyle, for Maguire, of Finmore Street, Dundee, described the incident as “unfortunate”
Solicitor Jim Laverty, for Dolan, of Finlow Terrace, Dundee, said: “Mr Dolan bitterly regrets it.
“He suffered the indignity of being arrested at his place of employment and spent 24 hours in custody.”
Sheriff Simon Collins fined the couple, who both admitted the assault, £275 each.
He told them: “Your behaviour was completely unacceptable.”
