He is probably one of the most recognisable people in the world right now, so no wonder an unsuspecting Perthshire inn owner was left rubbing his eyes in disbelief when none other than Tyson Fury entered his establishment.
The heavyweight champion of the world wasted no time in getting stuck in about a plate of bacon, fried eggs and American pancakes during a pitstop at the Red Brolly Inn at Ballinluig.
Fury was apparently on his way to a mystery location for a few days of peace and quiet following his sensational victory over Wladimir Klitschko last weekend.
Staff at the inn were dumbstruck when Fury and his entourage turned up at midnight for a one night stay.
While Fury opted for the American option, others including the boxer’s dad were rather braver and plumped for the full Scottish breakfast option.
Manager of The Red Brolly, Tommy McPhee from Auchterarder, said: “We got a call at around quarter to midnight on the Wednesday night asking if we had any rooms for one night as Tyson Fury was in the area and wanted to come and stay.
“We were indeed able to oblige him and shortly afterward he turned up.”
He may have a fearsome reputation, but Fury turned out to be something of a charmer.
“He was really chatty and down to earth, a lovely guy and delighted to be in Scotland for what he called ‘a real get away from it all’ following all the attention and media furore of the past week,” Tommy added.
