Man will ‘mibbees’ rearrange wedding after spending big day in custody

A groom-to-be missed his wedding after being locked up for stealing a £5 bottle of wine from Marks and Spencer.

Gavin Blair was remanded in custody after being arrested last week and was kept in prison despite telling the court he was due to marry last Saturday.

Blair was released from custody on Friday and replied “mibbees aye” when he was asked if he would still be getting married.

He was freed, and fined £150, after he admitted stealing alcohol from the Perth High Street store on November 23.

Solicitor Mike Tavendale said Blair, of Scott Street, Perth, had previously had a drugs problem but had been clean since visiting a Christian Fellowship rehab centre in the summer.
