Perthshire’s Relay For Life raises thousands for cancer research

An inaugural charity event has raised almost £12,000 to fight a deadly disease.
More than 200 people took part in the Perthshire Relay for Life, which raises funds for Cancer Research UK, in June.
One of the highlights of the event was the ‘survivors’ lap’, which started off the relay itself, and saw cancer survivors walking around the track.
A candle of hope ceremony was held later in the evening to remember those lost to cancer.
The total amount raised by the event participants is £11,904.
Scott Jewell, senior event leader of the Perthshire Relay for Life, said: “I am really happy to announce the amazing total raised by the local Perthshire community, and we are still receiving money.
“The event was great fun to organise and the weekend was amazing to be part of.”
