Richard Fraser, a stalwart of the Perthshire Boys’ Brigade, has died at the age of 63 after a short illness.
He spent his final days with his family at Roxburghe House in Dundee.
Born in Ballater in 1950, he was the eldest son of Jean and Alastair.
The family moved to Huntly 10 years later, where Mr Fraser attended the Gordon Schools.
He left at the age of 17 to take on an apprenticeship with Edinburgh-based electronics firm Ferranti.
He remained there for six years, before moving to its offices in Dundee.
In 1990, he took on a management role at Albacom Ltd, where he worked until his death.
During his time in Edinburgh, Mr Fraser met his wife-to-be Moira and the couple married at Abbey Church in Coupar Angus in 1974.
They went on to have four children Alastair, Kathryn, Fiona and David.
The couple started off married life in Dundee and spent several years in Burrelton and Coupar Angus, before eventually settling in Blairgowrie.
Mr Fraser initially joined the Boys’ Brigade in Huntly and reignited his passion for the group when his sons became involved.
He was captain of the 1st Coupar Angus unit until it folded in 2005. Mr Fraser was also a member of the Perth and District Battalion during this time, taking on the role of chairman.
In 2007, he became president of the battalion, a role he held until June this year.
