A woman who was caught drink-driving after she took her father’s car without his permission was jailed for six months at Perth Sheriff Court.
The court heard that Lee Pennycook, 37, of Barony Park, Alyth, had previously been banned from driving for five years.
Depute fiscal John Malpass said the car ended up on its roof.
“Firefighters freed the accused and police spoke to her and could smell alcohol on her breath,” he said.
Regarding a second offence, the court heard that police on mobile patrol saw a car sitting in a dirt-track road at around 4.40am with its lights on.
“Officers found the accused inside the vehicle and could detect a smell of alcohol,” Mr Malpass added.
Defence solicitor Billy Somerville said Pennycook had been on her way to visit her father in hospital but had then changed her mind and was about to turn back when the police caught her.
She admitted taking the car from Barony Park without consent on October 5 and driving on the A926 at New Alyth while disqualified, without insurance and with excess alcohol 108mics.
Pennycook further admitted that on July 12 on a road leading to Balboughty Farm, by Perth, she was in charge of a car with excess alcohol 71mics.
She was also banned from driving for five years.
