A North Muirton resident is concerned over flooding outside his home.
Andrew Scott, 59, of Brora Court, Perth, has told The Courier a 30-40 yard stretch of road on Bute Drive, between Eriskay Place and Gilsay Place, is “prone” to flooding, with water pouring into his garden when there is heavy rain.
He said he has contacted Perth and Kinross Council five times to report the flooding but that nothing has been done.
He went on: “It has been a problem for more than a year. My house faces this part of the road. Every time there is heavy rain the water builds up and it means cars either go through it, which pushes a lot of the water on to the pavement, or they go round it, which is dangerous.
“Traffic calming measures were put in by the council in February last year and this has made it worse.”
A council spokesperson said :“The council is aware of the current issue in Bute Drive and is investigating the situation with a view to identifying an appropriate permanent solution. The road gullies in the immediate vicinity were cleaned last year and found to be working effectively.
“We have provided sandbags to residents where weather conditions required and we will continue to respond appropriately in times of bad weather while we seek resolution of the issue.”
