Police are hunting thugs who tied a taut rope between trees on a popular quad bike track in Perthshire.
The stunt was discovered by shocked staff at Crieff Hydro as they carried out checks at their outdoor activity centre.
The “reckless action” took place sometime between 4.30pm on Monday August 12 and 10.30am on Tuesday August 13.
A spokesman for Police Scotland’s Tayside Division said: “The dangers of such a foolhardy act are all too apparent and the rope was quickly taken down before anyone came into harm’s way.
“Inquiries into the incident are ongoing and local officers will continue to give the area their attention.”
Meanwhile, a spokesman for the hotel described the incident as a “one-off”.
He stressed that he believed it was just the result of “youths messing about”.
“Safety is of paramount priority for us and our team check the track on a regular basis,” the spokesman told The Courier.
“No one could have been on the track with this rope in place.”
