Revellers in Highland Perthshire were left stunned when music star Ed Sheeran held an impromptu gig in their pub.
The Grammy-nominated singer joined 10-piece ska band Victorian Trout Conspiracy on stage at the Breadalbane Arms in Aberfeldy.
After spending the last 12 months touring with Taylor Swift in arenas across America, the 22-year-old was clearly keen to return to his more modest roots.
Although he has a legion of fans around the globe, none of his new bandmates recognised Sheeran until afterwards.
Guitarist and trumpet player Phil Ramsay later told his friends: “Epic acoustic Victorian Trout Conspiracy gig and who shows up and jams Ed Sheeran.
“I was midway through our third set when some boy asked if he could do a wee set. I had nae idea who he was but turns out he’s pure famous or something.”
Sheeran joined in with the band’s own songs, taking a turn on the tambourine and cajon drum before performing his own top 10 hit, You Need Me, I Don’t Need You.
Fortunately, for those who missed out on the intimate Aberfeldy gig, the star will be embarking on a 12-date tour of the UK later this year.
