Investigation after competitor is crushed at off-road event in Perthshire

An investigation is under way into an accident at an off-road motoring event in Perthshire which left a man fighting for his life.
He is in a “critical but stable” condition in Ninewells Hospital after he was crushed by a rock while taking part in the Scotia Winch Challenge in Griffin Forest near Aberfeldy on Saturday.
The event for 4X4s sees drivers take on extreme conditions, driving down slopes and between trees.
The injured man is understood to have been out of his vehicle when he was injured, sustaining serious leg injuries.
A helicopter was used to take him to hospital in Dundee.
