A major cycling event will take over the Fair City this weekend when the UK’s top young cyclists head to Perth.
Cyclists under the age of 16 from across the UK will compete in the Scottish Power Youth Tour of Scotland.
They will compete through four stages in and around Perth, with roads being closed in the city centre.
The event falls under the banner of the Scottish Power National Youth Racing Series and will showcase the country’s best young cycling talent.
The riders will kick off in Forteviot on Saturday before moving to Perth over the following two days.
Stage one on Saturday will involve a road race in and around the Forteviot, starting at 10.30am.
The contest will see the boy’s complete nine laps and the girls five laps of the 6.63km course.
On Sunday there will be a criterium in the centre of the city from 9am.
The start and finish will be outside Perth Concert Hall, with the boys racing for 50 minutes on the 1km track and the girls 40 minutes.
There will also be a 1.5km individual time trial at 12.30pm on Sunday.
Stage four will begin at 9am on Monday and will involve a 30-40km kermesse in and around Strathallan School.
The boys will complete 16 laps and the girls 10 laps of a 2.55km course.
Scottish Cycling, in partnership with Scottish Power and Perth and Kinross council, are running this year’s Youth Tour of Scotland.
