Man who broke stranger’s jaw in nightclub assault was tracked down on Facebook

A Perth man who broke a stranger’s jaw for pinching his girlfriend’s bottom was arrested after his victim identified him on Facebook.

William Carle, 30, of Rose Terrace, admitted assaulting Dean Begley, 21, by punching him on the head to his severe injury in The Loft nightclub in Perth on June 14.

Depute fiscal Gavin Letford told Perth Sheriff Court: “The complainer did not know the accused, but did recognise him.

“The accused’s girlfriend confronted him and accused him of touching her on the bottom.”

The court heard that Carle punched the man, leading to his jaw being broken in two places and having to have metal plates inserted in his face. Sentence was deferred for reports.
