Contamination fears after lorry overturns in Aberfeldy
ByStefan Morkis
There were fears a burn may be contaminated after a lorry overturned outside Dewar’s Distillery in Aberfeldy on Friday morning.
The Scottish Environment Protection Agency was called to the incident, which occurred at 6.42am, because a substance from the lorry was leaking into the burn.
However, it later emerged that the lorry had been delivering wood pellets to the distillery for its biofuel burner.
The driver of the lorry was treated at the scene by paramedics but is not thought to have been seriously injured.
Ernest Kidney, managing director of manufacturer, Balcas said: “The products are 100% natural.”
