ByJamie Buchan
Police are hunting a drone operator who spooked residents in a Perthshire town.
People in Auchterarder reported a flying machine menacing members of the public in the Townhead area.
The device was spotted flying within 30ft of properties on Friday.
Police Scotland have appealed for any witnesses to get in touch.
They also issued advice for drone users, highlighting legislation and potential risks of flying in crowded or built-up areas.
Constable Derek White said: “The use of drones is now popular to film or to take photographs and it is essential that they are utilised responsibly so as not to cause alarm or injury to members of the public.
“I would like to remind those who use drones to adhere to existing aviation laws and regulations.”
Any person using such an aircraft and unsure of their legal responsibilities is urged to contact the Civil Aviation Authority or visit their website.
