TV presenter Carol Smillie swapped her glamorous wardrobe for wellies during a visit to Perthshire. She met butchers and farmers as part of a Quality Meat Scotland campaign to promote local produce. The team at Simon Howie Butchers in Perth and the Mackie family at Ross Farm in Madderty welcomed her during the whirlwind tour. They were also given a sneak peek at a new charity cookbook featuring recipes from Scottish stars. It will raise money for Children’s Hospice Association Scotland, which operates Rachel House in Kinross, and Children 1st.
