Drink driver fails to appear in court due to playing in UK Snooker Championship

A snooker star caught drink driving failed to turn up at court because he was too busy playing in the UK Snooker Championship.
James Cahill sent a lawyer to plead guilty on his behalf to drink driving after a night out with his cousin Blaine Hendry son of former world champion Stephen Hendry.
Cahill did not appear in court on Thursday because he had spent the previous evening in York losing his first round match 6-3 to Scotsman Anthony McGill.
He faces a minimum 12-month ban after he admitted driving with excess alcohol in Perth’s Barrack Street on August 16 this year. He has been ordered to appear personally at Perth’s JP court next month.
