Two of Tayside’s chief police officers are to leave their posts.
Less than a year after becoming the top officer in Tayside, Chief Superintendent Hamish Macpherson is moving elsewhere within Scotland to work on an IT project.
And Chief Inspector Shaun McKillop, who covers Dundee South, has been promoted to the rank of Detective Superintendent within Police Scotland and will remain in Tayside.
Replacements for both are yet to be announced.
A spokeswoman from Police Scotland, Tayside Division, said: “Chief Superintendent Hamish Macpherson has been appointed to the 16 project team in a senior role.
“We are delighted to announce Chief Inspector Shaun McKillop has been promoted to the rank of Detective Superintendent within Police Scotland and will be remaining in the Tayside area.”
Mr Macpherson has been in the service since joining Tayside Police in 1986.
Mr McKillop, from Cornwall, moved to Bankfoot in Perthshire as a youngster. He joined Tayside Police in 1989.
