A Perthshire sheep expert is expected to become a big hit with TV viewers tuning into a new show about Thainstone livestock market.
Finlay McIntyre, 31, will be introduced to a nationwide audience next week and will remain a big character throughout the rest of the documentary series.
The six-part documentary series following life at Thainstone Mart is being screened on Mondays at 7.30pm on BBC Scotland.
Finlay is originally from Kinloch Rannoch and went to Breadalbane Academy, then on to agricultural college.
Having worked at Thainstone Mart for seven years, he recently returned to his hometown village to work as a farm manager.
The BBC filmed Finlay at work on the auction’s trading floor where he can be seen masterfully managing the sheep sales, calling the bidding with his lightning-fast chat as the animals go under the hammer.
Finlay said: “It’s just something you pick up, like riding a bike, you start slow and gradually speed up.
“The film crew were with us all through the summer and autumn. A few of them had a smattering of farming knowledge, but I have to say they were pretty green on the whole.”
