A 63-year-old man with no previous criminal record faces being sent to prison after being caught with around £40,000 worth of cannabis plants at his rural cottage.
William Crook admitted cultivating cannabis at Pitlandie Farm Cottages in Stanley, Perthshire, on April 13.
Perth Sheriff Court was told that Crook, of Ballantine Place, Perth, had not been in trouble with the police before being caught with a large-scale cannabis farm.
Crook who also admitted being concerned in the supply of cannabis on 13 April was freed on bail while pre-sentence reports are prepared. He will be sentenced next month.
No further details of the offence were given to the court.
