Environmental experts have allayed river contamination fears after a lorry overturned in Perthshire.
The incident occurred just before 7am on Friday outside Dewar’s Distillery in Aberfeldy.
The driver was uninjured, but a large amount of the lorry’s wood pellet load spilled into the Pittiely Burn.
The Scottish Environment Protection Agency was contacted to investigate any possible risks.
A Sepa spokesman said a large number of pellets being delivered to the distillery for its biomass boiler had ended up in the water.
Sepa officers were assessing the impact and aimed to remove as many of the pellets as possible.
“No fuel or fluids has been observed entering the watercourse. However, Sepa officers will continue to monitor the situation until the lorry has been removed,” he added.
