Police have launched a manhunt after an armed robbery at a shop in Perth.
A staff member at the Corner Shop in Crieff Road was threatened with a knife before the robber escaped with a three-figure sum of cash.
The raider struck at around 10.45am today.
Although the shop worker was shocked, he did not suffer any injuries and there was no one else was in the shop at the time.
A police spokesman said: “The suspect is described as being 18 and 20, between 5ft 6in and 6ft tall and was wearing a dark leather jacket and blue jeans. He may also have been wearing a blue hooded top under the jacket. His face was covered.”
The spokesman added: “He was seen running past the Tulloch Institute and nearby bowling green and into a wooded area near the crematorium. Uniformed and detective officers are in the area carrying out enquiries in an effort to trace this person and search trained dogs are assisting their investigation, along with the Police Scotland helicopter.”
