THE REJUVENATION of The Black Watch Museum has been described as “an inspiration” and an example of what can be achieved through “hard work and vision”.
Balhousie Castle in Perth was extended and refurbished as part of a £3.5m project to create new displays, interactive features, teaching space, a shop and a caf.
The Black Watch has been a centrepiece of the British Army for nearly 300 years and the improved museum aims to draw together several elements of its rich and varied history.
Among those impressed by the work have been Mid Scotland and Fife MSPs Murdo Fraser and Liz Smith.
Mr Fraser commented that the refurbished museum looked “fantastic”.
“Old and new combineseamlessly, which is never an easy task, and the museumwill no doubt attract tourists from Scotland and around the world, helping boost revenue in the city,” he said.
Ms Smith added: “The museum improvements have resulted in a superb attraction, which has something for those of all ages.”
