A driver who caused a crash while banned from the roads has been jailed for 10 months.
Mark McKay admitted driving carelessly on an unclassified road between Blackford and Sheriffmuir on Wednesday. He also admitted driving without insurance and while disqualified.
Perth Sheriff Court heard that he took the wheel from a female companion after she began experiencing problems with the car.
Depute fiscal John Malpas told the court that, while negotiating the road, the 32-year-old, of Begg Avenue, Falkirk, drove too fast for the conditions and strayed into the path of oncoming vehicles.
The crash resulted in damage to both the car McKay was driving and the car he hit.
Billy Sommerville, defending, said McKay accepted he should not have been driving and had fully cooperated with police.
Sheriff Michael Fletcher told McKay: “This is an offence which you keep repeating. Surely you must learn that you must wait until you are no longer disqualified before driving.”
