A Dundee man who dropped cocaine at police officers’ feet when they stopped his car has been fined and banned from the roads.
Raymond Buick, 40, was stopped on August 13 last year after officers decided to check his car’s space-saving rear tyre.
When they stopped him, they thought he was under the influence of alcohol.
While questioning Buick, who works in the oil industry as a well surface supervisor in Qatar, he dropped his wallet and a wrap of cocaine weighing 1.5g fell out.
Depute fiscal Rebecca Kynaston told Perth Sheriff Court this was worth £75.
Buick also admitted to being in possession of a controlled drug on Milne Street, Perth.
His solicitor said that, while his client’s sample breath test had resulted in a fail, a subsequent test showed he was under the drink-drive limit.
However, a police doctor ruled him unfit to drive.
Sheriff Valerie Johnston disqualified Buick, of South Victoria Dock Road, Dundee, for 12 months and fined him £765.
