A motorcyclist has died following a collision on a rural Perthshire road.
The victim is understood to have been riding a yellow Honda on the A827 between Ballinluig and Grandtully when it collided with a black Vauxhall at around 12.20pm on Sunday.
The man, who is from the Stirling area, was one of a group of three riders who were heading in the direction of Ballinluig.
Ambulance crews attended the scene and two other casualties were taken to Pitlochry Cottage Hospital as a precaution. However, the man was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
Police closed the road to allow crash investigations to take place and put local diversions in place.
Officers are now appealing for the occupants of a dark people carrier which was in the area and who may have witnessed the crash to come forward.
A police spokesman on Sunday said: “About 12.20pm this afternoon Police Scotland Tayside Division were called to the A827 between Grandtully and Ballinluig following a report of a collision.”
“Three motorcyclists had been travelling eastwards on the road when, as they were negotiating a left-hand bend, one of them collided with a black Vauxhall Astra travelling in the opposite direction.
“The rider was thrown from his bike and sadly was pronounced dead at the scene. The occupants of the Vauxhall Astra were not injured.
“Officers are keen to trace the driver and any occupants of a black or dark people carrier seen in the area immediately before the collision. It’s likely they will have witnessed this incident.
“The deceased, a man from the Stirling area, has yet to be formally identified. Officers are in the process of notifying next of kin.”
Anyone who can assist the police should call 101.
