Perth and Kinross Council budget: members hope to avoid major cuts
ByJamie Buchan
Perth and Kinross Council’s SNP administration says it will aim to protect front-line services and jobs in its budget, which will be determined later today.
Unlike other local authorities which are battling to balance their books, the administration is proposing a substantial multi-million-pound investment, while avoiding major cuts or redundancies.
Around £4 million is expected to be approved for key service communities while almost £6 million could be spent on roads, structures and supports for some of the area’s most vulnerable people.
