Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance has received a donation of office furniture from Perth and Kinross Council’s property division.
The council maintains a store of furniture for re-use, which is stocked with surplus council furniture, as well as unwanted items sourced from similar large organisations.
The resource has made the purchase of new furniture a last resort, making savings of £260,000 to the public purse over the last three years.
Gavin Davey, chief executive of Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance, said: “Setting up a new office can be a struggle for any organisation, let alone a charitable one like our own.
“We are very grateful that the council’s Furniture Re-use Project was able to assist us by donating some much-needed office furniture to our premises.”
Environment convener Alan Grant said: “We have a range of re-use initiatives running in Perth and Kinross and I am glad that the Furniture Re-use Project was able to help a such a good cause.”
