Residents had to leave their homes for a short period on Tuesday following a chip fan fire at a ground-floor flat in Craigie, Perth.
Three fire appliances from Perth used two hose reel jets and four sets of breathing apparatus to put out the fire, which began shortly before 2pm.
Police attended and diverted traffic away from St Leonard’s Bridge and Glover Street during the operation.
A resident of the block of flats, who wished to remain anonymous, said: “There was a chip pan fire at the ground floor flat and I understand it is completely gutted now.
“We were asked to leave our flats, just as a precaution.”
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire Service told The Courier: “We were called to a fire at a ground floor flat in Priory Place, Perth, at 1.46pm.
“Three fire appliances from Perth attended and all persons were accounted for.”
