A Latvian man who groped a teenage girl in East Perthshire faces possible deportation from the UK.
Perth Sheriff Court heard that Vladimirs Garkuls, 38, no fixed abode, had been served with deportation notices and the matter is now being investigated.
Depute fiscal John Malpass told the court that Garkuls parked a car near to some teenage girls around 9.20pm, when he was then seen “staggering” as he walked from the vehicle towards the teenagers.
“The impression was that the accused was under the influence of alcohol,” he said.
“Garkuls spoke in broken English to the girls and, during the course of conversation, he took hold of the shoulders of one 17-year-old girl but she attempted to push him off.”
The court heard Garkuls then put his left hand on to the girl’s right breast before she managed to “struggle” away from him.
Solicitor Cheryl Clark, defending, said her client was “realistic” about the position he is in.
Garkuls admitted that on April 6 he drove with excess alcohol 76 mic.
He also admitted that on the same date and address he drove while being disqualified and without insurance.
Garkuls pleaded guilty to an additional offence that on the same date and address he sexually assaulted a woman by taking hold of her shoulders with his hands and then repeatedly squeezing her breast.
Sentence was deferred until June 19 for background reports and Garkuls was put on the sex offenders register.
